     S.O.S. believes in harvesting the sun's energy to provide hot water and energy for the home. Providing hot wtaer accounts for 30% of an average household's electric bill. We believe in environmental conservation and reducing consumption of the limited resources from the earth. The life expectancy of a new solar system is approximately 15-20 years, and the cost of the system minus incentives($1000 utility rebate, 35% State Tax Credit, 30% Federal Tax Credit)will pay for itself  in about 3 years. Installing one solar water system(as opposed to an electric water heater)also reduces the emission of carbon dioxide gas by 1600 lbs and sulfur dioxide by 12 lbs and the consumption of 8  barrels of oil(per household!). When you utilize solar energy, you choose to offset the burning of fossil fuels and improve the welfare of Mother Earth. By being more conscious in our choices and actions, we can not only improve the health of others, but help maintain a better world for our keiki.
